Princeton Schools To Close For 2nd Day Due To Blizzard
Tuesday's Board of Education meeting will proceed as scheduled, the district announced.
PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 24, as a historic blizzard continues to keep roads hazardous and conditions dangerous across Mercer County, the district announced Monday.
The closure is the district's second consecutive snow day, following a Monday shutdown called in advance as the nor'easter bore down on the region. Despite the school cancellation, the district said Tuesday's Board of Education meeting will take place as scheduled.
Student-athletes and their families were directed to check the Princeton High School Athletics page on the district's website for information on specific athletic events, including any state contests slated for Tuesday afternoon.

Up to 16 inches of snow had fallen across Princeton as of Monday morning, as the powerful blizzard continued to pound Mercer County with heavy snowfall, strong winds and dangerous road conditions.
Princeton police urged all residents to avoid non-essential travel, warning that unnecessary travel puts both motorists and first responders at risk. "Conditions remain dangerous, and unnecessary travel places both motorists and first responders at risk," police said in a statement Monday morning.
