“Educational Theatre is a huge and important part of my life, and I am grateful for the positive impact that my students, colleagues, and school theatre community have made in my life throughout my career.”

Each year, schools from across New Jersey compete to get their musicals noticed. The awards also recognize teachers who bring the “positive impact of theatre into their students’ curriculum and lives.”

Krawiecki has been a district employee for six years now. She had to work hard to keep students engaged and inspired during COVID-19.

During the 2022-23 school year, the drama department staged four productions. Before the pandemic, they had six. The award comes as a recognition for all the hard work.

The theatre department’s “Newsies” received nominations and honorable mentions in several categories this year.

“I loved working on Newsies with my students this year - it was one of the most joyful and positive theatre experiences of my life,” Krawiecki said.
