Princeton University Football Team Gets Season's First Win in Home Debut

The Tigers downed Davidson College, 56-17, according to espn.com.

For the 12th consecutive game, Princeton University senior quarterback Quinn Epperly had multiple touchdowns, according to espn.com.

Epperly had four rushing touchdowns in the Tigers’ 56-17 win over Davidson College Saturday night. He had 118 yards on 16 carries, and was 15-for-18 for 176 yards through the air.

Princeton (1-1) picked up its first win of the season after dropping a 39-29 decision at the University of San Diego last week. Davidson fell to 1-4.

Princeton opens Ivy League play with a trip to Columbia next Saturday, 12:30 p.m.

Junior running back Dre Nelson put the Tigers on the board first with an 89-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to open the game. He also scored on a 23-yard run in the second quarter.

Senior tailback Will Powers scored on a 9-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Junior Nolan Bieck connected on a pair of field goals, from 31 and 40 yards out.

Sophomore Rohan Hylton had 11 tackles, according to goprincetontigers.com.

Junior cornerback Anthony Gaffney had eight tackles. A fumble recovery by sophomore defensive tackle Ty Desire was the first forced turnover of the season by Princeton.
