Utility Shutoff Moratorium Extended In Princeton
The moratorium on public water, gas and electric utilities has been extended until Oct. 15, announced the township.
PRINCETON, NJ – Princeton Township announced an extension on utility shutoff moratorium. The moratorium on public water, gas and electric utilities has been extended until Oct. 15.
The town is also offering a deferred payment agreement from 12 to 14 months for gas and electric utilities.
On March 9, Gov. Phil Murphy signed Executive Order 106 which suspended any evictions during the COVID-19 pandemic statewide.

New Jersey’s electric and gas utilities have voluntarily suspended shut-off during the crisis. Additionally, the state legislature passed a law to prohibit shutoffs of electricity, gas or water to residential customers during the pandemic.
