Mark Johnson says he was fired. The town says he resigned, according to Planet Princeton.

Questions surround the separation between the town of Princeton and former Animal Control Officer Mark Johnson.

While the town’s administration claims he resigned, Johnson says he was fired, Planet Princeton reports.

According to the town’s response to an Open Public Records request filed by Princeton Patch on Tuesday, there is no signed agreement between the town and Johnson at this point.

The dispute comes after the separation that took effect March 2, in the wake of the revelation that 400 rabies vaccines provided to the town by the state were unaccounted for, according to the report.

For an unknown reason, the proper paperwork was not filed by Princeton with the state in 2013 and 2014. The state requires paperwork to be filed after each vaccination, and unused vaccines are to be returned to the state within 10 days, according to the report.
