Reenactors To Gather Sunday To Recreate Battle Of Princeton
Reenactors will recreate a portion of the Battle of Princeton, which will be accompanied by an explanatory narrative.
PRINCETON, NJ — Members of the Princeton Battlefield Society will gather on Sunday for the 246th anniversary of the Battle of Princeton.
Reenactors will recreate a portion of the Battle of Princeton, which will be accompanied by an explanatory narrative. The reenactors will represent the Continental and Crown infantry artillery units.
After the reenactment, military units and lineage organizations will participate in the wreath-laying ceremony.

Attendees will also have a chance to speak with historians and tour the historic Thomas Clarke House where General Hugh Mercer died of his wounds.
The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first 200 guests to register online will receive a thank you gift at the event.

On Jan. 3, 1777, Continental Army soldiers under the command of General George Washington defeated British troops near Princeton. The action was part of a larger campaign to regain momentum following a string of defeats in the New York City in 1776.
