Resident Scammed On Facebook Marketplace: Princeton Police Blotter

A woman told police she was scammed by someone posing as a real estate agent on Facebook Marketplace.

PRINCETON, NJ — This week's Princeton Police blotter had the following reports:

On Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. a resident reported being scammed out of $850 after she sent a security deposit via Zelle to someone posing as a real estate agent on Facebook Marketplace. The Detective Bureau is investigating.

On Oct. 13 at 6:45 p.m. a business on Nassau Street reported that an unknown female shoplifted merchandise valued at $110.00. The Detective Bureau is investigating.

On Oct. 14, while conducting a motor vehicle stop, police found a Princeton resident Driving While Intoxicated. He was transported to headquarters for processing and was later released.

On Oct. 11, at 8:33 a.m. a Jefferson Road resident reported that the catalytic converter was stolen from her vehicle sometime between 7:15 p.m. on Oct. 10 and 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 11. The Detective Bureau is investigating.

On oct. 10, law enforcement conducted a motor vehicle stop for speeding and improper passing. The driver, a Bridgewater resident, was charged with DUI. He was taken to police headquarters for processing and was later released, police said.

On Oct. 8, officers conducted a motor stop and found the driver to have an active warrant out of Trenton Municipal Court for $550. He was processed and released after posting bail, police said.
