Roads Closed For Downed Traffic Light On Route 206 In Princeton: Police

PRINCETON, NJ — For the second time in two weeks, the traffic light at the intersection of Stockton Street (Route 206) and Elm Road has been knocked over by a tractor trailer, Princeton police said Friday morning. Drivers are advised to avoid the intersection.

Lovers Lane is closed to northbound traffic between Mercer and Route 206 due to excessive stopped traffic. Elm Road is closed to southbound traffic between Hodge Road and Route 206.

Police are advising drivers to use Mercer Road to Nassau Street as an alternate route. The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) has been advised of the situation, and repairs are expected to take several hours.

The same traffic light was knocked over by a tractor trailer back on Sept. 15.
