Storm Downs Trees, Causes Flooding, Closes Roads In Princeton
Flooding and downed trees have shut down several roads in Princeton until further notice following Monday's powerful storm.
PRINCETON, NJ — A powerful storm has forced the closure of multiple roads in Princeton due to flooding and fallen trees, with breezy and cold conditions expected to continue through the day.
Road Closures
Quaker Road is closed indefinitely in both directions due to flooding. No reopening timeline has been announced. Drivers are urged to plan an alternate route. (Update: Quaker Road has been reopened)

Route 206 (Stockton Street) is closed in both directions between Hutchinson Drive and Elm Road until further notice after a large tree and telephone pole fell and blocked the roadway. Residents are asked to avoid the area and plan an alternate route.
Birch Avenue is closed between Bayard Lane and Race Street due to storm-related damage.

The National Weather Service recorded the following peak wind gusts in Mercer County late Monday night:
- Trenton Mercer Airport — 58 mph
- Hopewell Township — 45 mph
- Ewing — 41 mph
- Hamilton Township — 40 mph
Forecast
Conditions Tuesday will remain breezy and cold, with partly sunny skies and a high near 40. West winds of 15 to 20 mph are expected, with gusts up to 35 mph. Overnight, skies will gradually clear with a low around 24 and west winds near 10 mph.
Wednesday brings mostly sunny skies and a high near 40, with calm winds shifting southwest around 5 mph by afternoon. Wednesday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 26.
