Street Construction Update In Princeton For This Week

Here's a traffic update for residents as they get ready to take on the week:

PRINCETON, NJ —The Witherspoon Street construction is ongoing in Princeton, and there are street closures expected.

Earle Asphalt Co. has started sanitary sewer lateral replacements work which will continue for the entire week. Here's the schedule:

  • Monday, July 11th - Princeton Public Library
  • Tuesday, July 12th - Casa Aziz Salon
  • July 13th to 15th - laterals on the west side of Witherspoon Street between Nassau Street and Hulfish Street

Due to the nature of the work, sidewalk closures and detours will be necessary. Police encourage motorists to avoid the area and follow detour signs. Construction hours are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. This schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or project delays.

Road Closures, Parking

On Monday, the southbound lane on Witherspoon Street between Hulfish Street and Paul Robeson Place will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The northbound lane will be shifted to the west side of Witherspoon Street. Traffic traveling on Hulfish Street towards the Witherspoon Street intersection will be permitted to turn right on Witherspoon Street. No left turns.

On Tuesday the southbound lane on Witherspoon Street between Hulfish Street and Paul Robeson Place will be closed, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No right turns will be permitted. Palmer Square and the Griggs Corner Lot will remain open.

On July 13 to 15, the parking lane on the west side of Witherspoon Street between Nassau Street and Hulfish Street will be closed. Traffic will be permitted to continue northbound, Wednesday through Friday.

Palmer Square, Hulfish Parking Garage, and the Griggs Corner Lot can be accessed from Hulfish Street.
