Careless Driving Summonses Issued In Fatal Princeton Crash

On Oct. 28, Salvatore Esposito-Dimarcant was struck on Mercer Road while performing landscaping work.

PRINCETON, NJ — A 73-year-old Lawrenceville resident was issued motor vehicle summons for careless driving in a crash that killed a man doing landscaping work, Princeton police said.

According to police, Linda Simmins was not driving in excess of the posted 45-mile-per-hour speed limit during the crash.

On Oct. 28, Salvatore Esposito-Dimarcant, 70 of Ewing was in the southbound lane of Mercer Road clearing leaves using a wheeled walk-behind leaf blower.

Simmins was traveling south on Mercer Road and struck Esposito-Dimarcant as he was clearing the leaves, police said.

Esposito-Dimarcant was taken to the Bristol Myer Squibb Trauma Center at Capital Health Regional where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Simmins was issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving with a future Municipal Court date, police said.
