Teens Charged in Fatal Shooting in Mercer County
Two boys, ages 16 and 17, have been charged in the fatal shooting of Ricardo Montalvan Jr.

Two teenagers have been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Ricardo Montalvan Jr., of Trenton, Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri and Trenton Police Director Ernest Parrey Jr. said on Monday.
The boys, ages 16 and 17, are each charged with murder, felony murder, robbery, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.
The 16-year-old was detained immediately after the shooting and subsequently charged.

Members of the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested the 17-year-old at his home Monday morning.
Both are being held at the Middlesex County Youth Detention Center.

Trenton Police discovered Montalvan Jr. in a silver Toyota Camry suffering from at least one gunshot wound after responding to reports of a shooting in progress and a man shot in a parking lot at 212 Whittaker Avenue around 9:50 p.m. on May 12.
Montalvan Jr. was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 10:15 p.m.
The charges are a result of an investigation by Detective Robert Booth and the Mercer County Homicide Task Force.
