Shelter-In-Place Lifted At Princeton High School
There was a shelter-in-place situation at the school Tuesday morning.

PRINCETON, NJ — A shelter-in-place situation at Princeton High School has been lifted Tuesday morning, according to the district office. The shelter-in-place was due to an unidentified man who came into the school, the police department said.
A student reported the presence of an unidentified man in his 20s to a teacher at about 7:20 a.m., according to the Princeton Public School District. At that point, the high school entered into a shelter-in-place situation, and the principals at all the other buildings were immediately notified. The district also contacted the Princeton Police Department, who responded to the scene.
The man, described as a 25-30-year-old white man wearing a grey sweatshirt and khaki pants had no interactions with any students or staff, police said. He was soon identified from surveillance video by school officials as a former student familiar to staff members.

Police then contacted the man's family and learned that his mother had picked him up and he was no longer at the school. The police department and the school district determined there was no threat to any students, and the shelter-in-place was lifted at about 9:45 a.m. Classes resumed as normal.
"The safety of our students is always our top priority, and I want to thank Princeton High School Principal Gary Snyder and his team as well as all the staff at Princeton High School for their calm and professionalism during this incident," Princeton Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Cochrane said via email Tuesday morning.
