The Lighting of Ackerson Field Kicks Off the Recreation Foundation of Hopewell Valley’s Fall Ball
It’s time to “Light Up the Night” with the Recreation Foundation of Hopewell Valley!
At this year’s Fall Ball, over 200 members of the community will raise money to support recreational opportunities for area youth, as they celebrate the lighting of Hopewell Valley Central High School’s Ackerson Field.
The annual event is the largest fundraiser of year for the organization, raising money through cash donations, advertising in the event’s program, and a Silent Auction. Hart’s Cyclery is proud to be among the local business doing their part, through a donation of a GT Aggressor Mountain Bike for auction.

This year, proceeds from the auction will benefit Hopewell Valley Pop Warner to offset their loans for their generous turf field donation. The all-purpose turf field where the event is held is used for field hockey, football, marching band, lacrosse, soccer and other school and community events. It’s a wonderful community asset that deserves celebration.
The Recreation Foundation of Hopewell Valley has been an advocate for recreational facilities in the area since 1990, providing safe and convenient playing fields for hundreds of children in scholastic sports programs and recreational leagues. The Foundation has raised over $750,000 since its inception and driven many major projects, including the construction of five multi-use fields at the Athletic Fields at Timberlane.
