Theft By Deception, Residential Burglary: Princeton Police Blotter
A man attempted to pass a fraudulent check of $30,000 at a bank on State Road, police said.

PRINCETON, NJ – Princeton Police blotter dated March 6 and March 13 contained the following reports:
On Feb. 27, at 10:48 a.m., officers responded to a bank on State Road for a report of a man attempting to pass a fraudulent check in the amount of $30,000. The man, a Trenton resident, was placed under arrest, taken to headquarters where he was processed, charged accordingly and released from custody.
On Feb 28. at 2:47 p.m., a man entered a retail store on Palmer Square West and shoplifted two items totaling $690. The same man is believed to have shoplifted the same items on Feb. 21. The Detective Bureau is investigating.

On March 1, it was reported that that on Feb. 25, five unknown people entered a retail store on Palmer Square West and stole several items while one of individuals distracted the store employee. The items were valued at $500 each. The Detective Bureau is investigating.
On March 3 at 12:48 a.m., subsequent to a motor vehicle crash investigation, the driver of the vehicle, a 59-year-old Skillman resident, was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. She was charged accordingly and later released to a sober adult.

On March 5, a man reported that his Apple Macbook and charger were stolen out his backpack that was left on a table in Hinds Plaza. The man was able to track his Macbook with his cell phone and an individual, a 50-year-old-man from Flint, MI, was located on Nassau Street in possession of the computer. He was subsequently arrested and also found to be in possession of a 7” knife and several burglar tools, police said. The 50-year-old was taken to headquarters where he was processed, charged accordingly and transported to the Mercer County Correctional Center.
On March. 5, three unknown people utilized fraudulent $100 U.S bills to purchase 20 clothing items from a retail store on Nassau Street, valued at a total of $3086. The Detective Bureau is investigating.
On March. 7 a Maclean Street resident reported that the same day between 3:56 p.m. and 5:23 p.m. an unknown person opened a package that was delivered to her apartment building and stole a pair of sunglasses valued at $400. The Detective Bureau is investigating.
On March 8 a Thanet Road resident told Police that between 12:30 p.m. on March 7 and 9:40 a.m. on March 8, unknown actor(s) broke a glass window attached to the front door of a unit under construction. After gaining entry they removed several items including a Samsung french door refrigerator and a Samsung convection double oven. The Detective Bureau is investigating.
On March 10 a North Harrison Street resident told police that they received a voicemail, from a suspect claiming to be a Comcast Xfinity employee advising him of a special discounted price. The man then contacted the suspect, who advised him that in order to receive the discounted price he would have to purchase Target gift cards in the amount of $550. The man then made multiple purchases, totaling $1,650, and provided the card code numbers to the suspect before realizing that he was a victim of a scam. The Detective Bureau is investigating.
On March 11, police conducted a motor vehicle stop for failure to observe signal, the driver, a 31-year-old Princeton woman, was found to be Driving While Intoxicated. She was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where she was processed, charged accordingly and released to a sober adult.
