Theft By Extortion, Criminal Mischief: Princeton Police Blotter
A resident told police he received a call from an unknown person who made threats and demanded money.

PRINCETON, NJ – The Princeton Police blotter dated June 5, had the following reports:
On May 30, at 6:45 p.m., police received a report that an unknown person stole the front license plate from a vehicle while it was parked at Lovers Lane. There are no suspects at this time.
On May 31, 7:42 p.m., a resident reported that an unknown person sent them an alarming text message demanding a sum of cash and threatened them with violence if they did not pay. The victim did not respond to the message and blocked the number before calling the police. This is a common scam to extort money, police said.

On June 2 at 11:21 p.m., subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Alexander Street, a 23-year-old Clyde Park, MT resident was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. He was taken to PPD Headquarters where he was processed, charged and released.
On June 2 at 08:58 a.m., subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Palmer Square East, a 61-year-old Princeton resident was found to have an active warrant out of Hillsborough Municipal Court in the amount of $550. He was placed under arrest, and taken to PPD Headquarters where he was processed and released on his own recognizance by Hillsborough Municipal Court.

On June 3, 9:04 p.m., a resident of Quarry Street told police that three people kicked open the front door of their home, then fled the scene on foot. No entry was made into the residence; however, the door was damaged during the incident. The Detective Bureau is investigating.
