Wife Of Princeton Student Imprisoned In Iran Seeks Trump's Help
Hua Qu has asked for President Donald Trump's help in freeing her husband, Xiyue Wang, the Princeton Packet reports.

PRINCETON, NJ — After three American prisoners who had been imprisoned in North Korea were released earlier this month, the wife of a Princeton University scholar who has been imprisoned in Iran is asking for the same thing for her husband.
Hua Qu has sent a letter to President Donald Trump to help free her husband, Xiyue Wang, from Iran, the Princeton Packet reports. She said her husband is losing hope, is being mistreated and it’s becoming harder for her 5-year-old son to remember his father.
Wang is accused of scanning 4,500 documents and attempting to access confidential information in Tehran. He has been arrested, tried and convicted on charges of espionage. He was sentenced in July of last year to 10 years in prison. A month later, Iran denied Wang's appeal.

Any negotiations with Iran may be infinitely more difficult than negotiating with North Korea. Relations between the United States and North Korea appear to be warming, with Trump set to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jung Un in Singapore on June 12.
The Trump administration believes North Korea has taken steps that “indicate this may be an opportunity for a breakthrough” regarding relations with America, Vice President Mike Pence has said.
On the other hand, the Trump Administration has taken a harder line on Iran, recently withdrawing from the Iran Nuclear Deal. The president has reinstated all sanctions the government waived in a deal the United States entered into with Iran and other countries under President Barack Obama. Qu has said she will continue to implore the president to help until her husband is freed.
