• Roosevelt Elementary kindergarteners dive into learning at Jenkinson's Aquarium (unionnewsdaily.com) — Roosevelt Elementary’s kindergarteners in Rahway recently took their science lessons on the road with a hands-on trip to Jenkinson’s Aquarium. Students observed sharks, seals, penguins, and colorful reef fish while connecting what they’ve studied about living things and habitats to real marine life, capping the day with lunch by the ocean and lots of excited storytelling.

• 167 Turtles Mysteriously Dumped In River Rescued By NJ Shelter (patch.com) — A bizarre case of more than 160 box turtles dumped along the Rahway River in nearby Cranford has led to a massive rescue effort by the Mercer County Wildlife Center. State wildlife officials suspect illegal wildlife trade, and rescuers are now seeking donations for housing, food, and medical care as they rehabilitate every turtle before any can be released or relocated.
