Antiperspirants Linked to Possible Cancer & Brain Damage

A link between aluminum based antiperspirants and health problems has been suspected since the 1990s.

An FDA ruling dated December 9, 2004 required that all antiperspirants manufactured in the U.S containing aluminum compounds to be labeled as such. The ruling warned about the potential health dangers of aluminum and also warned that people with kidney dysfunction should not use antiperspirants, since their kidneys would have difficulty eliminating the aluminum compounds.

Aluminum is a neurotoxin and for the FDA to warn people with kidney dysfunction not to use antiperspirants, aluminum is getting into the bloodstream to reach the kidneys. The antiperspirant industry, the CDC, the National Institutes for Health and the FDA, all continue to claim that there is no relationship between the aluminum absorbed through the skin and cancer. All this has been happening when the link between aluminum and breast cancer has not been ruled out.

The National Institute of Health’s website makes this very clear: “Because studies of antiperspirants and deodorants and breast cancer have provided conflicting results, additional research would be needed to determine whether a relationship exists."

Aluminum has also been associated with central nervous disorders, including autism and Alzheimer’s disease. Aluminum's impacts cell signaling and can alter neurodevelopment, as well as neuron function.

Aluminum is used as an activator in many vaccines. According to the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, 27 vaccines licensed in the U.S. contain aluminum in varying amounts, including; anthrax, DT/Td, DTaP/Tdap, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, Hib, HPV, meningococcal and pneumococcal vaccines. Aluminum has the potential to have a significant detrimental effect on a baby's or a small child's developing nervous system.

There is no established or accepted biological or medical need or use for aluminum in the human body.

Aluminum can deposit and accumulate in; bone, brain, liver, heart, spleen and muscle tissue.

In 2017, researchers published an article in the journal Toxicology that linked the aluminum in vaccines to; chronic fatigue syndrome, cognitive dysfunction, myalgia, dysautonomia and autoimmune conditions.
