Authorities Investigating Fatal Thruway Crash: Report

Authorities are investigating the multi-vehicle crash that killed two people and delayed traffic in the area for hours Friday.

Two Queens, N.Y. men were killed in the crash, which occurred just before 10 a.m.. A tractor-trailer, two box trucks, and a car collided at exit 14B of the New York State Thruway.

Two men in one of the box trucks were killed, The Journal News reported. They were traveling north, cut across two lanes of traffic and hit another box truck before they crossed the guardrail and were hit by a tractor-trailer, the report states.

Police closed the Thruway down for hours, diverting traffic onto routes 17 and 287, causing major delays for the rest of the day Friday.
