Animal rights activist called police after owner didn't return after 10 minutes, police said.

An English bulldog was rescued from the front seat of an SUV in Bergen County Monday as temperatures reached into the high 80s.

Robyn Uman, a hairstylist at Purple Rain Salon in Tenafly, noticed the dog in the Mercedes and called police when the owner didn’t return to the vehicle 10 minutes later, Cliffviewpilot.com reported.

A police officer popped the door open and got the dog out of the vehicle, the website reported. The dog’s owner returned to the car 12 minutes later.
