CLINICAL NUTRITION PRACTICE ANNOUNCEMENT

I am now accepting patients into my clinical nutrition practice!

I am pleased to announce that I have successfully completed a training program to become a Science Based NutritionTM affiliated practitioner. I am now accepting patients into my clinical nutrition practice!

If you know me, you know that I have been studying nutrition, longevity, exercise, the effects of stress on the human body and environmental toxins for many years. I am excited, because I feel that Science Based NutritionTM is the missing piece I needed to deliver what I feel my patients really want and need, to increase their number of healthy years, or to regain the health that they may have lost.

There are so many conflicting opinions and theories out there today, which causes confusion among even the most intelligent of individuals.

Many people are searching to find out the following:
1. What is the best combination of nutritional supplements that they should take, customized to their unique health status and health goals?
2. What foods are the best for them to eat and which should they not to eat, to get healthy and to stay healthy?
3. What lifestyle modifications should they make in order to maximize their health potential?

The Science Based NutritionTM program provides all of that and more! I challenge anyone to find a more advanced program available anywhere today. I certainly could not.

As a former science teacher, I demand to see convincing research and evidence that something works, before I can embrace it. When I found Science Based NutritionTM, I saw how systematically and logically their patented system works.

These are the steps:
1. A comprehensive questionnaire is filled out by the patient about their health history. You can find that questionnaire on my nutrition website.
2. Additional physical measurements are taken at my office.
3. Lab tests are then ordered, to see what imbalances exist in a patient. Tests include advanced blood work, urine analysis and hair analysis.
4. All that information is analyzed and a customized diet and a supplement program is then formulated. Lifestyle modifications are also recommended.
5. Retesting occurs periodically. By retesting, we can monitor progress and adapt your personal program based upon how your body responds to treatment.

There is no guesswork. There are also no specific treatments for any specific diseases, disorders or symptoms. There are however specific treatments for each and every imbalance that is found. We are not treating symptoms, we are helping the body to heal and regain balance. When the body moves towards being balanced, disease symptoms and disorders often disappear. This concept is amazingly simple as well as being totally logical

The evaluation can also indicate if you’re progressing toward the development of a serious illnesses or disease that may be currently subclinical.

The patient workup includes:
1. The initial consultation
2. Measurements of height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, blood oxygen saturation and body fat analysis
3. The interpretation and analysis of all of the patient information forms
4. The interpretation of the initial lab work
5. The report of findings consultation
6. The initial recommendations for your diet, supplements and lifestyle modifications
7. Stool testing for occult blood
8. A customized comprehensive, written report of at least 15 pages, as well as having that report e-mailed to you.

The initial treatment period is usually two months before the next tests are done to monitor your progress and to modify your program. Subsequent follow-ups are usually six months apart. This may vary depending on the severity of your health status. The follow-up consultations will include a consultation update, updated height, weight blood pressure, pulse, blood oxygen saturation and body fat analysis. The ordering of follow-up tests as well as the interpretation and analysis of all of the follow-up tests, the subsequent report of findings of your progress and your recommendations for any additional diet, supplements and lifestyle modifications. You will also receive your updated customized comprehensive, written report of at least 15 pages, as well as having that report e-mailed to you.

Other costs involved that are paid to the labs are:

1. Comprehensive blood analysis through Labcorp, including 52 tests - $188.00, which includes a complete blood count (CBC) with differential and platelets, blood typing, a metabolic panel, a lipid panel, liver panel, thyroid panel, fasting glucose, hemoglobin A1C, sedimentation rate, CRP (C-Reactive Protein),creatine kinase and vitamin D 25-Hydroxy.

2. Urinalysis through Labcorp - $12.60

3. Hair Analysis for Toxins & Heavy Metals through Doctor’s Data - $60.00

4. Your supplements, which can vary greatly in price, depending upon what supplements you need.

These are the most common costs, but depending on your health status, other lab work may also be needed.
