Deceased Ramsey Veteran's Name Added To Rhode Island Wall Of Heroes: Report

RAMSEY, N.J. — The name of a borough veteran killed in Afghanistan was added to the Garden of Heroes memorial last week in Providence, Rhode Island, the Associated Press reported.
Staff Sgt. Timothy Raymond McGill died Sept. 21, 2013 while serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. McGill was killed during a training exercise. McGill was a Ramsey native who served in the Rhode Island National Guard.
McGill went straight into the military after graduating from Ramsey High School in 2001, NJ.com reported.

McGill, 30, was the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
McGill's name was carved into the Rhode Island statehouse memorial Saturday along with the names of more than two dozen other people, the report said. The memorial honors those killed defending the United States since 9/11, the report said.
