Doctor Will Discuss Child Athletes And Concussions At Ramsey Library

Dr. Angela D'Alessandro will talk about pre-concussion testing, what to do from the sidelines and the importance of post-concussion rest.

RAMSEY, NJ — An informative lecture about concussions in youth sports will be given at the Ramsey library April 27.

Dr. Angela D'Alesandro will discuss concussion symptoms, pre-concussion testing, what to do from the sidelines, recommended treatment and the importance of post-concussion brain rest.

The significance of Second Impact Syndrome and its possible long-term effects will also be discussed.

D'Alessandro is a board-certified pediatric and adult physical medicine and rehabiliation specialist. She is a Ramsey resident, a parent and a member of the borough Board of Health.

The lecture will begin at 7 p.m.
