If you want to have a long and healthy life, eat real food!

Ultra-processed foods are severely stripped of their nutritional value. Well over half of the American food budget is spent on ultra-processed foods. Ultra-processed foods have even more of their nutritional components removed, as compared to processed foods.
Data from a nationally representative food survey:
1. On average, 57.9% of the calories that Americans eat, comes from ultra-processed foods.

2. 29.6% of calories comes from unprocessed or minimally processed foods (such as meats, eggs, milk, and pasta).
3. Processed but not ultra-processed foods (such as canned or preserved foods, cured meats and cheeses) account for 9.4% of calories.

4. 2.9% of calories comes from “processed culinary ingredients” such as vegetable oil, table salt and sugar.
Eating ultra-processed foods can significantly increase your chances of dying from the most common causes of death, which include; diabetes, cancer, strokes and heart disease.
Improved health can be as simple as preparing all of your food from scratch. Inconvenience is the price for good health.
