Is Parking A Problem On Your Street?
Council moves to allow more street parking on two residential roads in Ramsey

Street parking along two residential roads in Ramsey is about to get a bit easier for residents, as the borough council moved this week to adopt a new parking ordinance amendment that would ease parking restrictions.
The council introduced the amendment Wednesday, which Councilwoman Deirdre Dillon said would call for street signs on Nottingham Road and Sherwood Drive to be changed. The new signs will alert people that “basically, [on-street] parking along the outside of the road would be permitted, but there would still be no parking on the inside.”
The change is in response to a recommendation from the , and has been signed off on by the Fire Department, she said.

The new rule will not impact the cul-de-sac section of the streets, officials said.
Residents at the council meeting Wednesday said the change is “needed.”

Sherwood Drive resident Mike Serey thanked the council for proposing the new law.
Having no parking allowed on the streets previously “was a big inconvenience for us anytime people would come over, or for [our neighbors] who have a few older kids,” Serey told the council. “Thank you for taking care of this for us.”
So, Patch wants to know, is this parking issue isolated to these two streets, or are parking restrictions a problem on your street too?
