Jack Daniels Motors "Good Neighbor Program" Connects with Area Businesses to Make a Difference in the Community

Veterans Day Program Honors Area Servicemen with Art from Local Children

The Jack Daniels Motor Co. of Upper Saddle River has reached out to its surrounding communities in an effort to honor area servicemen, women and their families for Veterans Day. It’s all part of the “Good Neighbor Program” the company established a year ago, partnering businesses with each other and non-profits, to give back to the community.

“Our goal is to provide connections, communication, and benefits to all our ‘Good Neighbor’ members as well as to make a difference in the community and change lives,” said Dr. Ed Fox, a member of the Jack Daniels Good Neighbor Team. “We wanted to establish a Good Neighbor attitude with local companies by giving them discounts in our stores in exchange for assisting in fundraisers with area non-profits and fundraising events.”

The Good Neighbor Program has established quarterly themes to support and honor different groups throughout the year. “This quarter we are honoring service men and women, as well as their families from New Jersey. School students and children of employees in the program have been invited to create artwork that represents their feelings toward those who defend us every day,” explains Chelsea Lennon, associate of the Good Neighbor Program. “We are collecting these submissions and posting some in our stores while sending the rest to VA hospitals and our troops overseas,” Andrew Douglas, Good Neighbor Member adds.

In 2014 Jack Daniels Motors challenged its sales professionals to become more involved with the community by asking them to do one good deed a month. Some volunteered at nursing homes, others donated time by aiding with distribution at local food pantries. Their volunteerism not only created good will, but also generated sales.

The program became so successful among Jack Daniels Motors employees that they decided to reach out to surrounding businesses, encouraging them to do the same. The response was so positive that this “think globally, act locally” effort is now known as the “Good Neighbor Program.”

So far, the Good Neighbor Program has been involved in events to raise money for various organizations, such as:

· Walk for Hope, with Cancer Care

· Go the Distance for Autism, with EPIC Schools

· Gala for the Tuxedo Park Library

· Hosted Valley Hospital’s Men’s Health Day

· Festival of Flavors, with Youth Consultations Services, and more.

For upcoming events, please visit the Jack Daniels’s Good Neighbor website, listed below.

To-date the Good Neighbor Program has brought together over 40 organizations from Bergen and Passaic Counties both non-profit and for profit to help support each other’s businesses, as well as the community at large. They include Berkshire-Hathaway, Doctor’s Express, Raymour and Flanigan and Men’s Warehouse, among others.

Jack Daniels Motors was established 43 years ago and has been a family business ever since. They sell a wide range of brands including Porsche, Audi, KIA, and Volkswagen. For more information about the Good Neighbor Program, visit their website at: www.jackdanielsgnp.com.
