Joe Verdone, Republican Candidate for Ramsey Borough Council Seat
Verdone will run essentially unopposed for a two-year unexpired term

Joe Verdone is a Republican candidate for a two-year unexpired term on the Ramsey borough council. Verdone was appointed to the seat in August, when it was vacated by Councilman Bruce Vozeh, who was hired as borough administrator.
A Democratic opponent for the seat has withdrawn from the race.
Verdone, 71, has lived in Ramsey with his wife Dorothy, for 34 years. The couple raised two children in the borough.

“I helped found the Greater Ramsey Chapter of UNICO,” he said. The Italian-American organization raises funds, completes and promotes community service projects and gives scholarships to local students. He is also a group leader for the Men’s Sharing Prayer Group at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Wyckoff.
“I am retired now and I have more time to give back to the community,” the Mahwah Tea Party member said. “So, I decided to get more involved in politics.”
Verdone said the top issue facing Ramsey voters is taxes. “Those who chose to settle in Ramsey [should be able to] remain here for as long as they wish. If elected, I would ensure that our tax dollars are managed with that in mind.”
