Man Robbed At Gunpoint While Walking In Ramsey: Police
The victim was attacked on a front lawn of a Summit Avenue home, Chief Bryan Gurney reported.

RAMSEY, N.J. — A man was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night by someone whose description matches that of someone involved in similar robberies last summer, said Chief Bryan Gurney.
The unnamed name was making cell phone calls and walking at about 9:25 p.m. near Summit Avenue and Orchard Place when a car approached him, Gurney said. The car was either a Honda or a Toyota with a loud muffler, the chief stated.
The dark-skinned, skinny and tall driver asked the man for directions. The driver had dreadlocks and was wearing a cap, police said.

The man with the cellphone began to run, afraid that the incident was like other street robberies that had occurred in Ramsey, Gurney said.
The man was then attacked on a front lawn of a Summit Avenue home and the suspect re-entered his vehicle and headed south on South Central Avenue towards Allendale, police said.

The handgun was described as "dark-colored," and an iPhone and prescription medication were taken in the robbery, police said.
Police urge residents not to use cell phones while out on the streets after dark and parents are urged to remind their children of this, Gurney said.
Anyone with information about the suspect or who may have seen the robbery is asked to call the Ramsey Police Department at 201-327-2400.
