More alcoholic beverages are consumed New Year's Eve than any other day of the year.

The first rule of alcohol consumption is to stay safe. Don’t drink and drive. If you do drink, make sure to have a designated driver, unless of course, you are staying home. With that being said, there are ways to reduce the chances of having a hangover on New Year’s Day.
What causes a hangover is the accumulation of acetaldehyde. Acetaldehyde is produced in the human body when ethyl alcohol is broken down. Acetaldehyde is actually up to 30 times more toxic than the ethyl alcohol itself.
Taking a combination of the amino acid cysteine, B vitamins, milk thistle and vitamin C before you drink may help to reduce or actually prevent a hangover. Staying hydrated, drinking in moderation and drinking only on a full stomach are also very important.

Hangover remedies to try include bone broth for minerals, coconut water for electrolytes, soft boiled eggs for natural cysteine, ginger for nausea and coconut water for potassium and hydration.
There are many good ways to start off 2017. Having a hangover is not one of them!
