Man Killed By Train In Ramsey: NJ Transit
Breaking: The man was struck near the Ramsey Main Street station at about 12:30 p.m., NJ Transit said.

RAMSEY, NJ — A man was struck and killed by a NJ Transit train Tuesday afternoon, authorities confirmed.
The man was struck at about 12:30 p.m. by a train on the Main Line just west of the Ramsey Main Street train station, said Nathan Rudy, a NJ Transit spokesman.
NJ Transit did not release the man's identity.

Main Line service was suspended between Suffern, New York and Waldwick because of the incident. None of the people on board the train, including 10 passengers, reported any injuries, Rudy said.
The train left Hoboken at about 11:09 a.m. and was due to arrive in Suffern at 12:36 p.m., he said. Service resumed at 1:55 p.m..

Governor Phil Murphy signed "Tommy's Law" last month. It was named after a man who was killed crossing train tracks in the borough in 2016. (See related: Gov. Signs Tommy's Law Bill To Assist NJ Transit Accident Victims)
The law designates a person within NJ Transit to provide victims and their families with support and counseling services following an accident. It also requires the state to promptly provide victims and their families with support and counseling following train, light rail, and bus accidents and crashes.
