WHAT: Ramsey Borough Planning Board Meeting

WHEN: Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 8:00 P.M.

WHERE: Ramsey Borough Hall, 33 N. Central Avenue Ramsey, NJ

DETAILS: Traffic expert Hal Simoff will conclude and summarize testimony regarding data that will challenge the information previously presented and clarify the safety problems that will be created by the Wawa 16-pump gas station and convenience store if approved for the former Cury’s Sporting Goods site on Route 17.

Details will be presented on the potential consequences along Route 17. Discussion will focus of problems with internal circulation of cars and trucks within the small site and the anticipated difficulties with cars and trucks maneuvering within the site, causing backups on Route 17.

Ramsey residents have joined the Bear’s Cove opposition of the 24/7 gas and diesel fueling station and fast food/convenience store. A petition with 1,000+ signatures expressing concern for traffic safety on Route 17 in proximity to the proposed project was presented last week to the Mayor and Council.

Information on current problems faced by Garfield residents in proximity to a recently constructed Wawa will be made available to the media.
