Ramsey Schools Anticipate Positive State Review
The district says it received positive feedback from Q-SAC monitors this month

Earlier this month, the Ramsey School District underwent a mandatory state-monitoring process that district officials say should yield a positive review of its operations and curriculum.
Every three years, schools in New Jersey go through a Department of Education Quality Single Accountability Continuum, or Q-SAC, monitoring process. Throughout the year, the district has been providing the state with documentation outlining what it does in each of its buildings on a daily basis. Earlier this month, Q-SAC monitors conducted an on-site evaluation of Ramsey schools.
The district will be evaluated on its performance in five categories – operation, instructions and program, governance, fiscal management, and personnel.

“Their comments were extremely positive and complimentary,” DeYoung said.

The state representatives spent the day meeting with Ramsey schools administration, touring some of the school buildings, and sitting in on classes. District officials said the monitors gave feedback that they were impressed with the school’s special education program, its overall curriculum presentation, and building maintenance.
The official report from the state likely won’t be in for another two to three weeks, but DeYoung said he anticipates the review will be a good one.
“I assume from the [monitors’] feedback, the report will be good to go,” he said.
