Stroke Won't Wait. Neither Should You!

Tell your legislators to vote yes on the stroke systems of care bill!

Your legislators will soon be voting on a bill to update and our state's stroke system of care. NJ was one of the first states to institute hospital designations for stroke treatment. But new advances in science and medicine over the past decade mean that changes need to be made so that NJ can remain a leader in stroke care.

Soon, the bill will start moving through the voting process - first being voted on in committees and then hopefully reaching the full Legislature. Please reach out to your elected officials and ask them to vote yes.

The bill strengthens requirements for hospitals to be certified as Primary and Comprehensive Stroke Centers, which ensures they can provide the best care to stroke patients. It also institutes protocols to help ambulance personnel know how to recognize the severity of a stroke and to then transport stroke patients to the right hospital for their needs, as quickly as possible.
