The Most Effective Strategies for Eliminating Cellulite

Cellulite occurs when fat cells push against the surrounding subcutaneous connective tissue in your skin, causing your lymphatic circulation to become sluggish and toxins to then accumulating in fat cells.

Liposuction, creams and wraps can temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite. Without ongoing treatment, cellulite will usually reappear.

There are 5 natural strategies that might work for you to reduce cellulite:

1.  Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent fasting can shift your body from burning sugar to efficiently burning fat for fuel and can help get rid of excess fat deposits.  One of the mechanisms that makes fasting so effective for fat loss is the fact that it provokes the secretion of human growth hormone (HGH), which is a fat-burning hormone. Fasting also increases catecholamines, which allows stored fat to be burned for fuel.

Intermittent fasting can be effective by restricting your your eating to a window of a maximum of eight hours each day.  It takes a few weeks to shift your body from sugar-burning mode to fat-burning mode.  Once you get used to it, you should easily be able to fast for 18 hours and not feel hungry or craving sugar.

2.  Whole Body Vibration Training

A form of exercise that is particularly useful for combating cellulite in particular is whole body vibration training, using a vibrating platform such as the Zen Pro 5900, which I have in my office.  Whole body vibration training improves your lymph circulation by helping to break down cellulite from the inside out. The vibrations cause thousands of muscle contractions that pump your lymphatic fluid out of problem areas, reducing fluid congestion in your tissues. This helps to flush out toxins and ease the load on your immune system. This mechanism has been scientifically shown to actually help rid your body of excess pounds and cellulite in a 2004 German study.  In this study, whole body vibration training alone reduced cellulite on subjects' thighs and buttocks by nearly 26%.

3.  High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

High intensity interval training stimulates your body to produce HGH, which burns fat and cellulose.  One great HIIT program is called Peak 8.  Peak 8 is a 20 minute workout with 8 intense intervals of 30 second intense  exercise intervals with 90 second less intense intervals sandwiched in.  You should consult your physician before starting a HIIT program to make sure that your heart is capable of handling intense exercise.

4.  Rebound Exercise

A mini trampoline can also increase the G forces on your body and provide similar, yet less extreme benefits as whole body vibration training.  A mini trampoline or rebounder subjects your body to gravitational pulls ranging from zero at the top of each bounce to 2 to 3 times the force of gravity at the bottom, depending on how high you jump  Some of the other benefits of rebounding offers include circulating oxygen and nutrients to tissues and organs and promoting increased muscle strength.

5.  Body Brushing

A featured article in The Guardian, on April 8, 2013, suggests body brushing to reduce cellulite.  Body brushing  is giving yourself a vigorous scrub-down with a dry body brush before you get into the shower and then apply a good moisturizer afterward.
