The World Health Organization (WHO) has now concluded that coffee doesn't cause cancer, but hot drinks may.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has retracted the claim that coffee consumption increases the chances of getting cancer.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), report published in The Lancet Oncology, that after "thoroughly reviewing more than 1,000 studies in humans and animals, there was inadequate evidence for the carcinogenicity of coffee drinking overall."
Many studies concluded that coffee drinking had no carcinogenic effects for cancer of the pancreas, female breast and prostate Driingffe actually reduces risk of cancers of the liver and uterine endometrium. For more than 20 other cancers, the evidence was inconclusive, one way or the other.

The catch is that drinking hot drinks, such as coffee, tea or any other liquid that exceed 149 degrees Fahrenheit, could increase the risk of esophageal cancer.
According to the Coffee Detective, the best temperature for brewing coffee is between 155 to 175 degrees Fahrenheit, so it is beneficial to let the coffee cool off somewhat after it is brewed.

It is interesting that there was little mention made of the health problems that may be the result of using sugar, artificial sweeteners and artificial creamers to the coffee.
