Portion Of Millbrook Avenue Now Closed For Water Main Work: What To Know
The township plans a five-week road closure near Freedom Park as crews replace a water main after four breaks.
RANDOLPH, NJ —Millbrook Avenue between Schoolhouse Road and Carrell Road remains closed as the Township’s Water & Sewer and DPW staff will be replacing a part of an existing water main pipe.
Crews will replace an existing 12-inch DIP water main along Millbrook Avenue near Freedom Park where were four water main breaks in the last six months.
The project began on June 12 and will continue through July 17. Work hours are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to the township.

The construction activity will require full closure of portions of Millbrook Avenue between Schoolhouse and Carrell Roads with traffic detours posted.
The access driveway to Freedom Park will remain open during construction and there will be limited access to the Township Museum Building.

The restrictions are necessary in order to ensure the water main is properly installed and to prevent damage to vehicles using the road during construction.
Residents should expect delays and plan alternate routes during the length of the project.
Construction activities are expected to include excavation and removal of materials to a depth of 42 inches to 54 inches within a portion of the northbound lane of Millbrook Avenue.
The project also calls for installation of about 950 linear feet of new 12-inch DIP water main within the trench area.
