9/11 Ceremony In Red Bank Will Honor Victims, Mark Anniversary
Red Bank Borough, Elks Lodge #233 will gather on Sunday at Riverside Gardens Park to mark the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
RED BANK, NJ — The Borough of Red Bank and the Red Bank Elks Lodge #233 will be honoring victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks with a ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 11.
The ceremony will take place at Riverside Gardens Park at 9:30 a.m. on West Front Street and will last approximately 30 minutes, according to a post on the borough Facebook page.
Residents are invited to join community leaders, members of the clergy, students and others as the town marks the 21st anniversary of the tragic events and remembers the people from the area who died. Six people from Red Bank and two people from Shrewsbury died in the attacks at the World Trade Center.

Monmouth County lost 147 residents in the terrorist attacks, among the 2,977 people who were killed. More than 6,000 others were injured.
Of the 2,977 fatalities, 2,753 were killed in the World Trade Center and the surrounding area, 184 at the Pentagon, and 40 in Pennsylvania after the crash of Flight 93. These deaths included 265 on the four planes used in the attacks. The attacks by the 19 hijackers, who also died that day, remain the deadliest terrorist act in world history.
