Gerard J. Clement, 51, of Red Bank died at his home on December 11. A New York City firefighter, Gerard will be fondly remembered as a loving and giving man who was a dedicated firefighter who loved his profession. Gerard was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in the Westerleigh section of Staten Island, NY. For 11 years, Gerard resided in Port Jervis, NY. He retired in 2001. His favorite past time activities included skiing, fishing and baseball. He was a lifelong NY Mets and NY Giants fan. Gerard was an active member of the Shore Umpire Association and he umpired baseball games throughout Ocean and Monmouth counties. Gerry will be deeply missed as a devoted husband and loving father, brother and son.
He was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Clement. Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Elizabeth Clement; a son, Daniel Clement of Red Bank; a daughter, Elyssa Clement; his father, Gerard Clement and his wife, Simone of Port New Richie, Florida; his brother, William Clement and his wife, Gerri Lynne of Virginia Beach, Va; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held December 16 at the John Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, Internment was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Donations in his name can be made out to the Uniform Firefighters Association, 204 E. 23rd Street, New York City, NY 10010c/o UFA Widows & Children Fund.
