The Red Bank Chamber Music Society will present a free concert
featuring the Frisson Wind Quintet
on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 4:30 PM
at Trinity Episcopal Church, 50 White Street, Red Bank.
The program brings together four distinctive works for wind quintet,
highlighting the color, wit, lyricism, and rhythmic vitality
of this vivid chamber music tradition.
György Ligeti’s Six Bagatelles opens the concert
with brief, energetic pieces full of wit, rhythmic drive,
and sharp contrasts.
Carl Nielsen’s Wind Quintet follows
with one of the great works of the wind quintet repertoire,
full of character, humor, and invention.
Samuel Barber’s Summer Music offers a warmer,
more lyrical sound world, blending rich textures
with a reflective tone.
Lalo Schifrin’s La Nouvelle-Orléans concludes the program,
bringing jazz-inflected color and motion
and evoking the musical spirit of New Orleans.
ABOUT FRISSON WIND QUINTET
Frisson Winds features the brilliant wind musicians of the group Frisson.
These virtuoso wind players perform music for winds
in various combinations, including trios, quartets, and quintets.
Frisson showcases both emerging young artists and seasoned professionals
and has quickly become one of the leading classical music groups in the field.
