All History is Local: The Treatment of Casualties and Burial of the Dead at Monmouth Battlefield

The Battle of Monmouth was the longest single day engagement of the Revolutionary War, and also one of the bloodiest. Estimates place casualties from 300 to 600 in each army. This talk will focus on how and where the wounded were treated, and more significantly how, where and when the dead were buried, most still on the field in unmarked graves. Presented by Dr. David Martin.
