Downtown Red Bank Food Tour This Saturday, Nov. 10

A walking tour that stops at Red Tank Brewing, Bombay River, The Cheese Cave, Char, The Bistro at Red Bank and 26 West on the Navesink.

RED BANK, NJ — Downtown Red Bank, a long-time Jersey Shore hot spot with nearly 100 restaurants boasting cuisine from all over the world, will host a food tour this Saturday afternoon, Nov. 10.

This week’s tour, the second-to-last in 2018 and the last downtown tour of the year, will take place Saturday, Nov. 10 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and take guests to Red Tank Brewing paired with food from Bombay River, The Cheese Cave, Char Steakhouse, The Bistro at Red Bank and 26 West on the Navesink for $89 per person.

The tour will be led by lifelong Monmouth County resident and food lover Alex Boyer Coffey, who will lead groups on a three-and-a-half hour walking tour. The tours will spend 20 to 30 minutes at each restaurant, and enough food is served throughout the tour to amount to a satisfying meal.

Jersey Girls Food Tours will host a “West Side Best Side” tour, focusing on the best eats on the lesser-known west side of Red Bank and the final tour in the city for 2018, on Sunday, Dec. 9 from 12 p.m.-3 p.m.

“Red Bank has long been a food destination,” said Boyer Coffey. “It has the well-known downtown and the hidden gems of the West Side, making a perfect culinary destination to explore for residents and visitors alike. Even if you’ve lived here all your life, you’re bound to discover something new on this tour.”

Jersey Girls Food Tours is a Jersey-City based company that also hosts restaurant tours in Jersey City, Princeton, Somerville and Rutherford. The company was founded in 2014 by Alessia Aron and Janis Borroto, two “Jersey girls” who wanted to showcase the vastly-underrated restaurant scene of the Garden State. Since then, the company has grown, with new tours being added frequently.

“Other tours tend to cover the places that always have a line, so the tours get you in the door, but our tours focus more on the story of the establishment and the experience itself,” said Aron. “That also means that our tours don’t have a consistent lineup — they grow and change as food scenes change.”
