Inverted Gear Visits and Instructs at Garden State BJJ | Best Martial Arts Program In Mouth County | Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Nelson and Hillary Puentes, black belts and owners of Inverted Gear, stopped by Garden State Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Red Bank to teach and train last week! Nelson and Hillary both have extensive knowledge of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques and are two of Coach Chris’ best training partners. Inverted Gear, is Chris’s sponsor for some of the top competitions in the country; you could say Garden State Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy and Inverted Gear make quite a team!

In our 6:30pm BJJ Basics class, Hillary showed some of her favorite sweeps utilizing the “Spider Guard”, a position that controls both of your opponent’s sleeves leaving them open to submissions and reversals.

In our 7:30 No Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class, Nelson showed some entries into the Single Leg X-Guard, as well as sweeps and leg locks from that position. We followed technique drilling with tons of situational sparring.
