Jersey Shore Family Walks in 5K to Honor Dad's Memory, Celebrate Sister's Second Chance at Life

Members of the Grace family were all smiles at NJ Sharing Network’s 4th Annual 5K Walk and USATF Certified Race on June 8 in New Providence. The family formed Team Kidney Bean in memory of Timothy Grace (not pictured), their father/grandfather, who received a kidney transplant in 2006, and in honor of Andrea Grace (standing, far right) from Red Bank, who received a kidney transplant in 2007. Also pictured (l-r, front row) are: Kierney Grace, David Grace, Keegan Grace and Joilyn Grace, all from Brick. Standing (l-r) are: Sue Grace of Manasquan, and Megan Grace and Jennifer Grace from Red Bank.

Nearly 9,000 people, all touched in some way by organ and tissue donation, walked or ran in the event to help raise awareness and funds for organ donation. This year’s 5K has already raised $700,000. Fundraising for the 5K continues for several more weeks. To make a financial contribution to the 5K Walk/Race, visit www.NJSharingNetwork.org. You can also visit the website or call 1-800-742-7365 to learn more about organ and tissue donation and register as an organ and tissue donor.
