June is Horse Month at the Monmouth County Library!

Celebrate June is Horse Month at the Monmouth County Library! Meet a Standardbred horse and some mighty miniature horses. Listen to a panel of experts discuss the horse industry in New Jersey and discover the history behind Thompson Park in Middletown, once a premier horse farm that produced the first filly to win the Kentucky Derby.

Each year, the Monmouth County Library holds special programs for all ages to mark June is Horse Month. This annual observance provides an opportunity to focus on New Jersey’s state animal as well as the recreational, economic, social, and therapeutic benefits provided by the equine industry.
