Man Falls On Train Tracks In Red Bank: Police

A 36-year-old man was injured after falling onto train tracks late Saturday night.

RED BANK, NJ — A 36-year-old man was left injured after he fell off a train platform late Saturday night, according to Red Bank police.

Red Bank Police responded to the scene at approximately 10:24 p.m. after reports that a train had struck a pedestrian were made. When officers arrived on scene, the New Jersey Transit employees informed officers that the pedestrian fell off the platform just as the train was entering the station.

The victim, an un-named male from Perth Amboy, was located by officers Jon Quispe and Taylor Doremus laying under the platform. According to RBPD Captain Michael Frazee, the victim was highly intoxicated at the time of the accident.

"Miraculously, the male was not struck by the train however suffered a knee injury as a result of the fall from the platform," said Frazee in an official statement.

Both officers Quispe and Doremus, along with the help of first aid, were able to remove the individual from under the platform. He was immediately transported to Riverview Medical Center for treatment.
