Red Bank Man Steals Copper Pipes From Keansburg Property, Police Say
It's not uncommon for abandoned properties and construction sites across the Bayshore region to be broken into for scrap metals.

KEANSBURG, NJ - A Red Bank man broke into an abandoned property in Keansburg last Wednesday, removed copper pipes and was arrested, police said.
Ronald Remp, 36, was arrested Wednesday, April 12 after he broke into a property at 197 Center Avenue, near Union Place. It's an abandoned home currently owned by the bank, and is pictured above. Remp crawled into a crawl space under the home to access the copper pipes, police said.
Copper can be sold in scrap yards for more than $2 a pound. It's not uncommon for abandoned properties and construction sites across the Bayshore region to be broken into for scrap metals.
