Shrewsbury Man Sentenced To 18 Years, Molested 7 Juvenile Victims
The incidents occurred in Red Bank, Shrewsbury and Wall from 2008 to 2018. All the victims were under the age of 13, prosecutors said.

SHREWSBURY, NJ - A Shrewsbury man was sentenced Friday to 18 years in prison in connection with sexual assault and child endangerment charges.
Victor Mejia-Salinas previously admitted in court that he had molested seven victims all under the age of 13 between 2008 and 2018, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
In 2020, Mejia-Salinas pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, three counts of second-degree sexual assault and two counts of third-degree child endangerment.

The incidents occurred in Red Bank, Shrewsbury and Wall Township between 2008 through 2011 and 2013 through 2018.
Last week, a Monmouth County Superior Court judge imposed a series of concurrent prison terms, resulting in an overall sentence of 18 years without possible release on parole, according to the Asbury Park Press. The publication also reported that the El Salvador native may also face immigration consequences, as he has been in the country illegally for over 20 years.

The charges against Mejia-Salinas come from three separate indictments that resulted from joint investigations by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, the Red Bank Police Department and New Jersey State Police, prosecutors said. Upon his release, Mejia-Salinas must register his whereabouts with authorities under Megan’s Law and will be subject to lifetime parole supervision.
