St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations, Films & More: This Weekend In Monmouth County

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — The weekend has officially arrived.

As we welcome March and get closer to the official start of the spring season, there are plenty of events to check out around Monmouth County this weekend.

Whether you’re looking for a night out with drinks and music, new restaurants to try, new films to see, or to get a head start on St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, here are eight local events you can check out:

Shamrocks By The Shore: St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

• Date: Saturday
• Location: Pier Village (50 Chelsea Avenue, Long Branch)
• Details: Enjoy live Irish music, shopping, dining, entertainment and more at Pier Village’s St. Patrick’s Day Celebration.

Yappy Hour

• Date: Saturday
• Location: Bar Bella at Bell Works (101 Crawfords Corner Road, Holmdel)
• Details: For those looking for a night out with their furry friends, you can join Bar Bella from 5-8 p.m. for their Monthly Yappy Hour featuring live music with DJ Pepeloco. The bar opens at 4 p.m.

Irish-American Comedy & Film Fleadh

• Date: Saturday
• Location: The Vogel (99 Monmouth Street, Red Bank)
• Details: Join the Count Basie Center for the Arts as they partner with the Dublin International Comedy Film Festival to present a best-of selection of titles from the festival, as well as Irish comedians. Tickets required.

World’s Best Short Films

• Date: Saturday
• Location: Algonquin Arts Theatre (60 Abe Voorhees Drive, Manasquan)
• Details: Enjoy a mix of classic favorites and new international festival winners in one evening when New York City’s longest-running short film showcase comes to Algonquin. Presented by Asbury Shorts. Tickets required.

18th Annual Dine & Discover

• Date: Sunday
• Location: Restaurants throughout Belmar
• Details: Enjoy a day of food, fun and discovery at Belmar's 18th Annual Dine & Discover. Event tickets required.

E. Murray Todd Half-Marathon

• Date: Sunday
• Location: Brookdale Community College (765 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft)
• Details: Take part in this 13.1-mile course that loops through residential parts of Lincroft, Holmdel and Colts Neck. Pre-registration is closed, but in-person race day registration will be in the Collins Arena between 7-8 a.m. at a cost of $70.

Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade

• Date: Sunday
• Location: Allen Street & River Road (Rumson)
• Details: Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Rumson’s annual parade that serves as a “celebration of community, heritage and the unique spirit of Rumson.”

Asbury Park St. Patrick’s Day Parade

• Date: Sunday
• Location: Intersection of Ocean Avenue & 4th Avenue (Asbury Park)
