$1,200 Silver Cruet Stolen From Ridgewood Church: Police Blotter

A man was arrested after police responded to a report of a burglary Sunday, police said.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Police said that a $1,200 silver water cruet was reported stolen from a Cottage Place church Sunday. Detectives are investigating the incident.

Other police-related incidents from the past week include:

  • A Prospect Street resident responded to Ridgewood Police headquarters Sunday to report fraudulent activity on an American Express credit card, police said. The victim requested documentation of the incident.
  • A Linwood Avenue resident responded to Ridgewood Police headquarters Sunday, to report a fraud, police said. The victim reported while attempting to sell items on Craigslist the buyer sent her a fraudulent check, police said. The victim reported when she attempted to deposit the check it was determined the check was fraudulent. The victim requested documentation of the incident.
  • Sgt. John Chuck arrested a 57-year-old female from Upper Saddle River Friday for outstanding warrants, police said. The woman was able to satisfy all of the outstanding warrants and was released with a pending court date, police said.
  • A Ponfield Place resident responded to Ridgewood Police headquarters on Friday to report identity theft. The victim reported an unknown person opened a line of credit with Macy’s without authorization, police said. The victim reported Macy’s fraud department was notified and is investigating the incident. The victim reported a criminal attempt was made to open an additional fraudulent account but was denied, authorities said.
  • On Sunday, patrol units responded to a residence on North Van Dien Avenue on a report of a possible burglary in progress, police said. The homeowner reported that an unknown person was seen on the second floor of a detached garage, police said. Patrol entered the garage and arrested a 32-year-old Englewood man for criminal trespass, police said. The man was transported to headquarters, served with a criminal complaint and released with a pending court date.
